For those who follow the United States Emmy Awards, they may still have not noticed that Sky Lanterns are a featured part of one of the advertisements nominated for an Emmy for best advertisement. For those who follow the awards, they typically follow the big ones such as best drama, best comedy and best lead and supporting actor type awards. However, the Emmy Awards are very detailed, offering awards for best voice over, sound effects and many other different facets of television.

This advertisement has been done in many different languages and speaks of the philosophy of Absolut Vodka. The beauty behind the entire thing is timeless and appeals to people in different nations and different ages as well. The inclusion of floating lanterns as part of this advertisement as well as part of the vision of one of the artists who was hired to be included shows how sky lanterns are truly a beautiful thing that was expertly captured on film for this campaign.

For the director and the artist of this well conceived advertisement, we salute your efforts. The advertisement is simply mesmerizing and even if we weren’t in the sky lantern business, we would be pulling for you to win the Emmy for best advertisement. With such international appeal, it is possible this advertisement could be up for other similar awards in other countries around the world as well.
