Today’s match of Uruguay vs. Netherlands for a spot in the finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Football match should be a great game. Both teams have come on strong and have surprised everyone with how well they have performed in this year’s World Cup. For us back in England, our team may have lost but supporting the Netherlands efforts today means an all European World Cup final. The Netherlands are riding a wave of confidence by beating highly favoured Brazil and there are many football purists simply hoping that Uruguay gets some justice for their player’s flagrant handball in the Quarter final round. Either way you look at it, support for the Netherlands is a good thing and using sky lanterns as part of that support, either prior to their start or after their win in hopes they can continue their strong advance into the finals.

Support the Netherlands with their Colours

By purchasing a mix of our white and blue traditional, Chinese lanterns, you can send up floating lanterns in a manner that leaves no doubt to others the reason why the lanterns are floating away. Available here:http://www.nightskylanterns.co.uk/sky-lanterns/coloured-traditional-sky-lanterns/prod_9.html for coloured lanterns and here: http://www.nightskylanterns.co.uk/sky-lanterns/white-traditional-sky-lanterns/prod_8.html for white lanterns they are able to float for miles and while they won’t make it to the Netherlands, they will let your fellow UK residents know that you are supporting your European neighbours today during the World Cup.

Why Sky Lanterns?

Sky lanterns were traditionally used as a way to send prayers to the heavens. These prayers were of hope, joy as well as hope that enemies would be smitten with plagues or lightning. While we do not endorse violence to our fellow man, Uruguay certainly does not deserve to win this match and, frankly, there is really no better team to beat them than the Netherlands. The positive energy of a win for the Netherlands from sky lanterns, plus the need for Uruguay’s place in the universe to be balanced out that should be enough to secure the victory for the Netherland’s team.

Post-Game Celebrations

After the game today, celebration in the evening hours can be done with the colours of the winning team, whoever it ends up being. However, to mix it up a little bit, our novelty football shaped sky lanterns are an excellent choice for any World Cup related party. While not available in the super aerodynamic official FIFA model, traditional white on black, blue or red pentagons are and they will fly farther and likely in a more predictable manner than the official World Cup ball. While goalies have managed many 100 metre tosses, our football floating lanterns will fly for miles. Because of football season, these are a very popular item, so order yours today.
