God Save the Queen has more meaning today, June 2nd than it does any other day of the year. June 2nd celebrates the coronation of our queen, Queen Elizabeth II. Having reigned for 58 years, she has been the monarch of Britain longer than many of England’s greatest rulers lived. With coronation celebrations planned for today, take some time this evening to launch sky lanterns into the sunset to wish our queen another year of health and the country another year of prosperity.

Nightskylanterns.co.uk has all types of lanterns to help celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation day and in all quantities. For a large celebration at a public park, along a waterway or simply a family launching well wishes into the sky from their home, there are floating lanterns available to help celebrate this wonderful day.

The tradition of using sky lanterns to celebrate important events dates back thousands of years to the original Chinese lanterns which were used both for sending hopes and prayers to the heavens but also used in large quantities to celebrate coronations and other important events revolving around the monarchy in China.  Once trade routes were established with China, celebrations using Chinese lanterns were witnessed by many British importers who worked these trade routes and this is originally how sky lanterns came to the UK.

Today, these sky lanterns are modern interpretations of the original Chinese lanterns. By combining the design and technology of the original with modern chemistry and fuel sources, you get the best of both. With the latest design, the Eco lantern, available here: http://www.nightskylanterns.co.uk/eco-lanterns/eco-lanterns-no-wire-/prod_33.html, celebrating Coronation day is fully environmentally and livestock friendly. These lanterns have no wires and are fully bio-degradable, guaranteeing that wherever they happen to land, they will disappear and not pollute or create litter that needs to be picked up. The paper is treated with a fire retardant so even in the event that the sky lantern touches down before the fuel cell is out, the paper will put the fire out.

Celebrating Coronation day with the Eco Lanterns gives the users an opportunity to send up personalized messages on the lanterns. With our available Sharpie markers pens, available here: http://www.nightskylanterns.co.uk/lantern-accessories/permanent-marker-pens/prod_22.html writing a message is easy. That message, if written to fill up the entire side of the paper lantern, will be visible for quite a while and as the lantern floats off, many others will see the well-wishes for Queen Elizabeth II. The typical night sky lantern will float five to ten miles, ensuring that many people see your support of the queen on this day of celebration for her continuing reign.
