Spring is in the air and the flowers abound. This is the perfect time of year to celebrate new life and the changing of the seasons with a get together of friends and family. Make your day special with the addition of a sky lantern launching. This will get everyone involved and will be a fun, interactive event. Everyone enjoys setting off sky lanterns and watching the glow in the sky. Even those who are not in attendance at your party will enjoy watching the sky lanterns during the night as the glow can be seen for miles.

Contrast between land and sky

For those who are photographers, capturing the contrast between the flowers on the ground and the lights in the sky with night sky lanterns will be a fun experience with striking results. Imagine setting off the sky lanterns in a field of flowers. The blanket of flowers on the ground is a beautiful complement to the blanket of lights in the sky as the lanterns radiate a warm glow. The spectacle will be socially stunning if set off at dusk. You will just be able to see and appreciate the light radiating from the sky lanterns but it will still be light enough to see the ground cover.

Continue the tradition of prayer and well wishes

Spring is a time of renewal and a time to start growing crops. Traditionally, people used sky lanterns in ancient times to send prayers and well wishes into the air. The thought was that the wishes will float closer to the ear of the gods and are more likely to be heard and thus granted. While you may not be planting crops, spring is a great time to assess your goals in life and make plans for the coming year. You can memorialize these wishes, hopes and dreams by writing them on a sky lantern. Use a sharpie marker to write each wish, dream, hope or prayer on an individual sky lantern. Then you can continue the tradition by launching each one to the sky.

Use sky lanterns safely

Although sky lanterns are beautiful, fun and easy to use there are a few precautions you should take in order to ensure they are used as safely as possible. All sky lanterns are flame retardant but you should not use them in high winds or during inclement weather. Make sure the area where you launch them is free from obstruction. Rest assured that the sky lanterns are biodegradable so you won’t be contributing to waste. If you live in a rural area where falling sky lanterns may come in contact with livestock you may want to use the eco friendly lanterns that contain no wire. The no wire sky lanterns pose no harm to animals and they will degrade much faster when exposed to the elements.

Spring is the ideal time to continue the tradition started many years ago by your ancestors. Sky lantern use is gaining in popularity for celebrations and festivals. However, there is no better time than spring to send out prayers and wishes for the remainder of the year by using sky lanterns.

news i a F E rns are 100% biodegradable and are flame retardant. You can rest assured that lighting and flying the sky lanterns is perfectly safe. In addition you will not contribute to any environmental waste because the lanterns will degrade once they are exposed to the elements. You can even get eco friendly lanterns that contain no wire and degrade even faster.
