Tomorrow is the Glorious Twelfth, an interesting holiday for many UK residents. Whether you are a hunter or a vegan, you are likely aware of the Glorious Twelfth and either way, Night Sky Lanterns are a great way to celebrate this evening on the eve of the opening day of hunting for the Red Grouse and Ptarmigan. Whether you are in a rural area of the UK, such as County Durham, readying your shotgun for tomorrow morning or staying in your London flat lamenting the pending loss of life to the Red Grouse, there is a floating lantern application available for you.

For the Hunter

For the Hunter, Chinese Hanging Lanterns are a great way to relax the night before the big hunt tomorrow. Launching them into the evening skyline, they are beautiful to watch and fun to launch. For the hunter, they can even be seen as a practice piece; as they float off, pretending to lead the lantern and squeezing is a great way to get into the mindset needed for the Glorious Twelfth.

Traditionally, Chinese lanterns were used in many ways but one of them was to send prayers up to the heavens, typically for good fortune, wealth and prosperity. For the hunter, this tradition can continue today, with a launch of sky lanterns and in them the hope for a bountiful hunt tomorrow on the opening day of Red Grouse season in the UK.

For the Vegan

For the Vegan holed away in their London home or apartment, the thought of the death of all of the Red Grouse tomorrow may be too much to bear. Sending up sky lanterns tonight with prayers of either shot resistant Red Grouse or really bad aim from the hunters is wholly appropriate tonight. In either case, the vegan can find themselves relaxing from watching the Chinese Hanging Lanterns float away into the sunset, hopefully taking their cares and worries about tomorrow away with them.

For the Red Grouse

While the Red Grouse will be shot at tomorrow, there will be no worries about the sky lanterns causing their environment any problems. All of the’s Chinese Hanging Lanterns are 100% biodegradable and aside from our Novelty lanterns, all are completely wire free. This means that no birds or other animals can accidentally get into a degrading lantern and injure themselves on the metal wires that most lanterns use for supporting the fuel cell. Both the hunter and the vegan do not want the birds to get injured or killed by debris and are the only vendor of sky lanterns that are so completely wire free with their offerings. We were the first ones to respond to the reports of wires causing problems with livestock when floating lanterns were released in rural areas and landed in cattle fields. Within only a couple months, we introduced the Eco lantern line giving out customers the opportunity to choose which one they needed and just last month we finalized a conversion of our standard line of lanterns over to a wire free design as well.
